Pangea Remix EP Vol. 1 – Anthony Sample

Friday, August 26th, 2011

German producer Anthony Sample took a look at Pangea Music from his very own perspective and created 5 original remixes in his own style. The result is best described as a trip back to Hip-Hop’s glory days of the 90′s, A Tribe Called Quest meets Boot Camp Clik meets Pangea Music… The TradeMark Experience has a verse on the first track, “City Street Nights!” Download the whole Album for FREE at http://www.pangeamusic.net/fr_remixep’s.cfm

Too Strange To Live, Too Rare To Die

My 12-track Best Of/Greatest Hits album, “Too Strange To Live, Too Rare To Die,” originally released as a free mixtape last fall, has been re-released on iTunes! The album is available NOW!

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE ALBUM!

The best sound quality is guaranteed for every track!*

It’s shaping up to be a very busy summer, thank you all for keeping up with me!

Best,
TM

*When I originally released this album last year, I said that the best sound quality was guaranteed for every track. Well, long story short, in my attempt to bring you the highest quality MP3s, I actually did more harm than good to the recordings. This time around, each song was taken directly from the source file, and unlike last time, there was no tampering with the sound after the fact, so I can absolutely confirm that you are now getting the highest quality MP3 for each song.

A Message to 2K Sports & Duckdown…

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

This is a special message to 2K Sports, Duckdown, all of the venues that have refused to book me in the past, the local “promoters” and “tastemakers” who had nothing for me but false promises, The Deli magazine, the Philly hipster crowd who now dictate what the city is allowed to find “cool” (not me!), disgruntled hip-hop fans who are still stuck in 1995, and everybody else who has tried their damnedest to keep me trapped under the glass ceiling…

I love you, man.

Seriously, I must applaud you guys. I mean, you must *really* hate me to go out of your way like you do. Don’t think that I haven’t noticed your efforts to hold me back, or that those efforts are unappreciated.

Look, I’m sorry that you don’t like me. I’m sorry that I’m trying to create something new, something original. I’m sorry that I don’t sound like anybody else. I’m sorry that my catalog of music is so eclectic and varied, I know that confuses you guys. I’m sorry that I have my own look and a unique style. I’m sorry that I’m white. I’m sorry that I have a sense of humor, and I like to make people laugh. I’m sorry that three years ago I wrote a fun song about being a dinosaur, and most of you have written me off ever since. I’m sorry that I have pop sensibilities, and know how to write catchy hooks – I guess I should feel guilty about “selling out” like that. I’m sorry that I use autotune in my songs – I like how it sounds, sue me. I’m sorry that I’ve succeeding in building a buzz for myself, in spite of your efforts to ignore me. I’m sorry that I draw bigger crowds to my shows than your favorite indie band. I’m sorry that many of you will think this blog is overly dramatic. I’m sorry that even more of you won’t even bother reading this.

Yes, in case you couldn’t tell, I am pissed that 2K Sports & Duckdown overlooked my submission for the NBA MC Contest. But if anyone thinks for a second that I’m going to let these bullshit politics get in the way of my dream, then you’re woefully misinformed. From the day I started making music, I had to deal with this nonsense. People telling me that I’ll never make it because I’m too white, I’m too nerdy, I’m too soft, I’m too goofy, etc. Guess what? I’m still here. And I’ve got quite the fucking resume to show for it. By playing these games with me, trying to break my spirit – all you’re doing is inspiring me to work even harder, make even better music, push even further. Every smart remark on my YouTube videos makes me stronger.

I will drop dead before I give up on this. I will never quit. I will spend the rest of my life working 24/7 until I make it in this business. It means that much to me. So if you really want to get rid of me, you’ll have to kill me. Until then, play all the politics you want, because I’m keeping things moving forward like I always do. Whether you love me or you hate me, I could honestly give a shit anymore, because either way I’m not going anywhere, so you better learn how to deal with me one way or the other.

TM

P.S. For those of you who have been supportive over the years, I apologize. None of this is directed towards you. You all know who you are. I have nothing but love for all of you.

“Aura Of A Champion” EP coming soon to iTunes!

Saturday, April 23rd, 2011

What’s up, everybody?

My long delayed 3-track EP, “Aura Of A Champion,” is finally on its way!

I uploaded the album through TuneCore earlier today. I set the Digital Release Date to Tuesday May 31st, 2011, but depending on each store’s distribution process, the EP may be available before that date, or we may have to wait a few days/weeks after the date for the album to go live. At this point, it’s just wait and see. “Aura Of A Champion” will be available on iTunes, Amazon MP3, eMusic, etc. (basically all of the major internet retailers).

I can say in full confidence – these songs are worth the wait.

The title track, “Aura Of A Champion,” produced by SK, is on the more personal side, dealing with the subject matter of substance abuse and the loss of innocence.

“Never Give Up” and “Man Without A Country” are both self-produced, and they are also very personal records, exploring topics including my frustration with the Philly music scene, my response to the negative feedback I’ve received over the years, and my disdain for the pretentious “hipster” mentality that seems to dominate pop culture today.

Stay tuned over the next few weeks for some preview/trailer videos, audio snippets, and more!

Thank you for your continued support.

Best,
TM
